Season Dates
Specific dates will vary. Try-outs/evaluations will be held in February and are MANDATORY. Practices usually begin in mid-March with games starting in May and continuing into late-June or early-July.
Team Formation
Team size: 11-14
Registration numbers 14 or less would lead to one team being formed. Evaluations will still be held.
Team will be rostered at the skill level deemed appropriate by the coaches and baseball director (Federal/American/National)
Athletes who live outside of the Central Linn School District will not be offered a position over resident athletes. Any athlete who lives outside CLSD, but is enrolled in Central Linn Schools, will be considered a resident athlete.
Registration numbers surpassing 14 but lower than 22 would result in tryouts to fulfill the 14 spots
*Tryouts will include at least 2 community members not affiliated with the current registrants and the coaches as well as the baseball director and one executive board member. If the baseball director also holds an executive board position, an additional executive board member must also attend.
Tryouts will include 2 mandatory skill days. One additional “makeup” day will be offered. All players are encouraged to attend the “makeup” day as well as the original tryout dates.
Team will be rostered at the skill level deemed appropriate by the coaches and baseball director (Federal/American/National)
Registration numbers surpassing 22 but not exceeding 28.
Two 11-14 man teams formed after tryouts*
If skill level allows, these tryouts may result in one team being rostered at a higher skill level than the other.
If the tryout coordinators do not agree that a team could be made that has the skill level to be placed higher (Federal/American/National) than another, teams will be equally split.
Every effort to split teams equally, if needing to roster them at the same skill level, will be made, regardless of coaching staff desires to work together.
Should the need to roster teams in separate skill divisions be made and a player refuse to play on the team they were rostered on, resulting in an inability to form the second team, the refusing player would not be considered eligible in future registrations if it would result in “cutting” another registrant.
Registration over 28 applications will follow the above mentioned team formation strategies.
